Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, 2026. Special education teachers, paraeducators, and administrators work hard daily to provide the best education and care for exceptional children. Whether you’re a student, parent, caregiver, paraeducator, teacher, or administrator, now is the time of year to give an especially big thanks to the special educators. Let’s come together to celebrate special education professionals! They deserve to know we care. The Council for Exceptional Children has multiple opportunities for you to nominate an educator in your life (or yourself!) for acknowledgment and prizes.

Win lunch for a special education teacher or department
Do you know an incredible special educator or special education department? Do they deserve lunch on CEC? Tell us what makes them great for a chance to win lunch for them during Teacher Appreciation Week! We'll select five winners and send them lunch during Teacher Appreciation Week. Yes, teachers, you may nominate your own department!
Nominations are due by April 17, 2026.
Education Professional Appreciation Opportunity
Do you work with a rock star? Send your kudos for the special educator, general educator, admin, paraeducator, or related service professional in your life who makes a difference. We’ll spotlight and celebrate them on CEC’s social media during Teacher Appreciation Week and reach out to them to express our gratitude.
